Tiny Tags Media Event and Takeaways

One of the most rewarding experiences for a publicist is seeing our work come to life through a well-executed media event. In the past few months, we’ve seen in-person events resume, and we were thrilled to host a media preview for Tiny Tags’ fall and holiday ‘22 launches this month in NYC. Over 20 top media and influencers came to this intimate event to view the new collection, connect with the founder to learn more about the story behind the brand, design their own Tiny Tag, and be pampered by the Glam Squad.

Media Event Takeaways:

PR is all about relationships and although VPR, like so many of our admired colleagues, successfully pivoted during the pandemic years to function effectively when in-person events weren’t possible, there is truly nothing like coming together in person to nurture an existing or budding relationship. Our goal is to make sure all of our clients’ have an effective and fun PR experience and in-person media events are an exciting piece of the puzzle.

There are many reasons why editorial events are our favorites, but here are our top 4:

It’s one big love fest! An incredibly important value we provide is raising awareness amongst key media members. Editors, producers, and writers are the OG influencers in our book and they’re the gatekeepers when it comes to securing media coverage. We love them and they love us, but our job is to keep the love fest going! We aim to build real connections between the media members who we know could most benefit from our clients and there’s no better way to do that than with a perfectly orchestrated media event.

  • Events come in all shapes and sizes. And budgets! If the fit between the PR agency and the client is perfect (again, it’s all about relationships!), the publicists handling your campaign will clearly understand your goals and budget and will be able to present a number of options that will accommodate a few different budgets. There is nothing wrong with an absolute blowout if that’s what works, but we’ve seen some truly incredible results when the event is more intimate.

  • It’s where the magic often happens. Our work as publicists centers on storytelling and our media colleagues receive thousands of pitches every day, meaning our competition is stiff. But if we can engineer the perfect event that our target audience simply cannot pass up, they’re going to be more interested in the story we have to tell, and more easily see how well it fits in with their coverage. It’s as if we’re taking the best possible pitch about your brand and bringing it to life for them.

  • We can fast-track coverage. There is tremendous competition for press coverage and there are only so many hours in the day. However, when we’re able to hit all the right notes in planning an event the fact of the matter is that we’re able to reasonably expect to see coverage happen much more quickly than otherwise would be the case.

It’s incredibly fulfilling to see a media colleague connect with a brand in a meaningful way, and media events are a key part of building that authentic connection.
